How The Store Came To Be

My brother and I have been blurting out "that's a great band name" since we were teenagers. Our pursuit wasn’t going to fade away so my brother started a list. And we have been adding to it for decades. Its a celebration of the things aren't funny at all…until they're a band name. Casket, for example. It’s not funny until you see that a metal band named Casket is on a live music venue's event calendar.

The list took on a new purpose when I began learning graphic design. To make it more fun, I practiced by making logos for my favorite fake bands and then, naturally, sending them to my brother. The band names were as amusing as they were in 8th grade and putting them alongside the art made them better. The merch had practically been designing itself and since I was getting good feedback, I decided get the website off the ground. 

The process of building this entity, modest as it is, has been quite an experience. I am merely average when it comes to tech and it was frustrating at times. Mostly, however, it was gratifying to see it come together. Bands That Never Were is the culmination of my best effort. Regardless of whether it is able to survive I am happy with myself for seeing it through. 

My hope is that there will be enough interest for the store to be self-sustaining. In that spirit, I am grateful for your visit and the way you will be treated here will reflect that. My goal is for the store to be fun to visit and for customers to love owning the merch. Along those lines, I’ll be happy to collaborate with you on personalizing and/or customizing items.
